16:10: Manchester United would see signing Cristiano Ronaldo for a world record fee as a good piece of business despite being 32, according to West Brom defender Gareth McAuley.

Ronaldo has told Real Madrid he wants to leave this summer and he reportedly favours a return to United.

“The money, the prices in the game it’s incredible player to think a player is worth that sort of money,” McAuley said on Sky Sports.

“But I suppose how global Ronaldo is and the business side that comes with it, I don’t know if it’s a good investment or not but he’s certainly scored goals and he’s certainly won things wherever he’s been.

“When it comes to Manchester United I’m sure they would see it as good business.”

And an upgrade at right-back also appears to be on Jose Mourinho’s agenda.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, United hope Benfica president Luis Feipe Viera will accept their offer for Semedo of just over £30m.

However, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all set to make offers for the 22-year-old too.

Benfica’s Viera subsequently intends to welcome a bidding war as the president hopes to receive a minimum of £35m.

13.45: Swansea are hoping to lure Tammy Abraham to Wales.

Paul Clement worked with Abraham in his time at Chelsea and hope he will head for the Liberty Stadium this summer.

Abraham was excellent for Bristol City last season in the Championship and has a number of clubs interested from the top flight.

Newcastle and Brighton have held talks but nothing has gone through yet.

And Swansea chief Huw Jenkins wants to win the ace.

“He’s a young and up and coming player we are interested in,” said Jenkins.

Jenkins told BBC Wales Sport: “Tammy does not have Premier League experience, but we are interested.

“Paul knows him from Chelsea. If you look at the options which have been publicised, (they are) Brighton, Newcastle and ourselves, so it is left to Tammy and his family to decide where he wants to go next.”

13.04: Chelsea are confident about signing Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.

Antonio Conte is keen to make big signings after landing the Premier League title.

Conte is looking for around six new players at Stamford Bridge and could ship as many out with Diego Costa on his axe list.

A return to United is a possibility for Ronaldo, but his uncertain future has left team-mate Morata frustrated.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Perez has urgently stopped his move to Old Trafford, with a two-week delay now expected.

If United meet Madrid’s demands of around £79million, the deal should still be done, although it now appears a completion date is not likely to be until early July.

11:59: Arsenal are reportedly considering making a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – which would see Alexis Sanchez leave.

Arsene Wenger wants to strengthen up front, having identified Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe as key targets.

It is added the Gunners will finally sell Sanchez should they bring in Aubameyang.

Mourinho also believes Ronaldo is in decline, despite him scoring 42 goals in 46 appearances last season.

11:05: Juventus are reportedly doing all they can to scupper Chelsea’s £60m move for wing-back Alex Sandro.

Chelsea are able to offer him improved wages, potentially doubling the 26-year-old’s current salary in Italy.

According to the Evening Standard though, Juventus have made a last-minute attempt to keep Sandro.

The Brazilian earns £75,000 a week at present, and the Blues are ready to hand him £150,000 a week.

Juventus cannot compete with those figures, although are said to have tabled a new deal worth £100,000 a week.

10.35: Manchester City are closing in on a deal for Juventus star Dani Alves.

Pep Guardiola wants to work with Alves again after a successful spell at Barcelona together.

The right-back is on City’s shortlist as they look to overhaul their full back positions.

City could end up signing our full backs with Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Ryan Bertrand lined up.

Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Barbary Sagna have been released with Aleksander Kolarov the only full back left at the club.

But Goal say City are close to a deal for Alves having identified him as an option back in April.

10.20: Southampton are keen on a deal for Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer, according to the Sun.

But Saints will go nowhere near Tottenham’s £20m valuation for the centre-back.

Southampton are on the lookout for a new manager but hope to appoint Mauricio Pellegrino this week.

And The Sun claim Wimmer is on their shortlist as they look to improve the defence that lost Jose Fonte in January.

Virgil van Dijk has also been linked with moves but no one is ready to pay the £70m price tag.

10:14: Hector Bellerin appears to be edging back to Barcelona with the Arsenal star having reportedly bought a house on the Catalan coast.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the Gunners ace is aware talks between the two clubs will be long and complicated.

And discussions over his transfer are not likely to start until July, but he has taken the first steps to facilitate a switch.

Bellerin is said to have bought a house on the Catalan coast, with his family having returned to Spain.

They are no longer residing in London, suggesting the Arsenal man is soon to follow due to his close relationship with his parents.

10.05: Gianluigi Donnarumma is ready to play for Real Madrid according to Mino Raiola.

The AC Milan keeper has rejected a new deal at the San Siro and looks set to quit with Real Madrid and Manchester United ready to move.

And his agent Raiola claims he is ready to make the move.

He said: “Offers from other teams? The ones being spoken of, they have been looking for him since he was 14, so if he wanted to leave, he could have done it before. We do not have an agreement with any team.

“Is Donnarumma ready to play for [Real] Madrid? He was born ready…”

He added: “We decided to not renew because there was a situation which was too hostile and violent that had been created and it was not possible to get out of there.

“They threatened Gigio and also his family – threats of not playing, of death (some of the fans), banners that the club never took down and a passive attitude toward the boy.

“It was never an economic matter, if the two parties want a solution, the solution is found.

“They had the budget of a top club and Gigio is a top player, I would have found the way to satisfy everyone, but we never got to talk about this.”

10.00: Kylian Mbappe is only ready to leave Monaco for Real Madrid.

The teenage sensation is valued at over £100m and is wanted by a host of clubs throughout Europe, including Arsenal and Manchester United.

An alternative remains Nemanja Matic though, and the Chelsea star is considered a more achievable target.

Either player could potentially double their salaries by moving to Old Trafford.

8:40: Pepe wants Real Madrid and Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to join him at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Pepe, who was limited to just 18 appearances last season, is out of contract at Real Madrid this summer.

The 34-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks.

And according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Pepe hopes his Portuguese compatriot Ronaldo will follow him in moving to the French capital.

7:40: Liverpool remain in talks with Roma for winger Mohamed Salah but are unwilling to meet their asking price.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Salah this summer as Jurgen Klopp prepares for next season’s return to the Champions League.

And according to Sky Sports, Liverpool have set a £35million ceiling for the 25-year-old – including add-ons.

But that fee is said to fall short of Roma’s valuation of the Egypt international, who cost the Serie A club just £13m from Chelsea last summer.

6:45: Express Sport understands Chelsea will go back with an improved £60million offer for Alex Sandro in the next few days and Juventus are resigned to the deal being done if he is guaranteed improved wages.

The Blues had seen a £52m bid for the Brazilian left-back turned down last week but the 26-year-old remains a top target for Antonio Conte.

Sandro is on around £75,000-a-week at Juventus, a figure Chelsea can easily improve on, and the defender has been told his club will not stand in his way if he makes it clear he wants to go.

Chelsea also face competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain but manager Conte is determined to get his man.

A replacement for Luke Shaw is needed, and according to the Daily Mirror, Tierney is still being considered as an option.
